I used to shun routines. The rebel, or perhaps the non-conformist in me, would resist, at all costs, being predictable. Until I learned to meditate, I did not appreciate the benefit of routines. Routines make life easy. When life feels easy is when the ability to manifest flows like magic and miracles. Meditation is a wonderful routine to incorporate into any lifestyle. When we meditate, the routine of our practice allows us to get into that non-resistant state of openness and trust much easier. If you choose the same time, same chair, play music, light incense or a candle, wear a shawl or hold a particular stone, it all helps in training the brain to prepare for meditation. The more you do it the more the brain understands and begins to reach that calm sooner and sooner into the routine. When you are consistent, it is almost certain that eventually, just sitting in the same place will illicit the same feeling as if you have been in meditation for 30 mins or longer.
My morning routine is this:
Wake Up - feed the kitties, all 4 and 1/2 (the 1/2 being Harvey the neighbor's cat)
Brew Coffee - drink it black because I also fast
Draw two Angel Cards (by Music Design)- one with my right hand and one with my left. The dominant hand representing consciousness and the other my subconscious. I keep them in a bowl, gifted to me by my friend Lanier, next to my coffee pot and on my desk. I have done this since the 90's.
I take my coffee every day to the same comfy chair in a room lit only by salt lamps.
I light a stick of Shoyeido incense. It is one of the cleanest and purest and still by far my favorite. No matter what you choose from them, the aroma will be pleasing and easy and sacred.
I turn on my red light therapy and write down any dreams that I had during the night.
I read some daily newsletters and e-mails and text messages if there and think about my day ahead.
I then put on my headphones and use the Expand App by the Monroe Institute.
I say MBOs to create and manifest for the day. (Most Benevolent Outcome Requests see below)
And then, I am ready to greet the rest of the morning and the day with clarity (yes I drew that card), optimism and eager anticipation. It's like I have set the stage and I am ready to show up and be 1000% available and present. This is what I do currently. It is always evolving. Two years ago I didn't know about MBOs or even consider using Red Light Therapy. I've known about Hemi-sync by the Monroe Institute, yet I did not know the Expand App existed. So my routine will continue to evolve, as it should, to incorporate things that work for me or don't. Routines are routine, yet they are flexible, not rigid at all. We learn to discard what we outgrow and make room to receive what is there to carry us further, into expansion. I encourage you to think about your own routine. How committed are you to yourself and your day? Because, that really is what this is- it is a commitment to yourself.
You are creating the foundation for your day to spring forth from. When you skip this, it is like being caught by the mighty wind and trying to grab hold of a blade of grass, that is also blowing in that mighty wind, to ground you. A morning routine will ground you and that is a truly powerful thing to do when setting your foundation for the day. When you approach your day from this place, the power you have to create is unlimited and focused. This is the basis for manifesting and who doesn't want to learn to master that?!
MBOs Most Benevolent Outcome Requests

I have been using this technique for well over a year now and am still continually amazed at its effectiveness. Not only that, I am STILL in awe of the speed and obviousness of the work and I delight in using this in the most creative of ways. I won't go into the details here. And sometimes I add one to support my fasting~ I request a most benevolent outcome that I easily stick to my fasting today. Thank you!
Whether you want to work on something with your health, wealth or relationships, MBOs can address everything, from big to small. Nothing is frivolous or grand- this is wide open and there is absolutely no judgement. If you have a desire, then it is valid! I was wearing really high heels (for me at least) to a 'cocktail attire' event last summer and was nervous to walk in them. I said an MBO that I could walk in these shoes as easily as I walk barefoot and that I walk gracefully and confidently at all times. I had a splendid day, going up and down stairs, without any mishaps whatsoever.
Using MBOs has been a true game changer for me and I love sharing what works for me just in case it resonates with you to try too. My wish is to live here in harmony and happiness and find joy in my life no matter where and what I am doing. This, I believe, is worth sharing.
